Founded in 1993 by a group of parents, the charity now supports more than 2,500 members and works closely with the five NHS Designated Specialist Craniofacial Units across the United Kingdom.

Following the planned retirement of its current Director after eight years of service, the charity is seeking a new Executive Director to lead the organization through its next phase of growth and development.

Salary: £60,000 per annum
The Executive Director will provide strategic leadership and operational management for the charity while working closely with the Chair and Board of Trustees.
This role combines organizational leadership, fundraising, financial oversight, stakeholder engagement, partnership development, and operational management to ensure the long-term sustainability and success of the charity.
The successful candidate will lead the organization through an important period of transition while supporting the charity's mission to improve outcomes for individuals and families affected by craniofacial conditions.
Work closely with the Chair and Board of Trustees to deliver the charity's mission and long-term strategy
Lead implementation of operational plans and organizational objectives
Serve as a positive leader and role model for staff, volunteers, and stakeholders
Ensure compliance with:
Provide day-to-day leadership of the charity's activities and staff
Set organizational priorities and performance objectives
Support effective delivery of services and member programs
Maintain strong operational systems and processes
Work closely with trustees and the Treasurer to ensure sound financial management
Support financial sustainability and appropriate allocation of resources
Develop new and sustainable funding streams
Lead fundraising initiatives and grant application activities
Identify innovative opportunities for income generation
Oversee the charity's events program, including:
Ensure services continue to meet the evolving needs of members and families
Act as an ambassador for the charity
Develop relationships with:
Support collaborative initiatives within the UK and internationally
Oversee communications and marketing activities
Increase awareness of craniofacial conditions and the charity's work
Support member engagement and public outreach efforts
Demonstrated leadership experience within the charity or nonprofit sector
Proven fundraising and income-generation experience
Strong budget management and financial oversight capabilities
Experience leading and motivating staff and volunteers
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
Experience developing sustainable funding streams
Strong organizational and project management abilities
High level of digital literacy and understanding of online communications
Knowledge of charity governance, compliance, and regulatory requirements
Ability to work effectively with remote teams and stakeholders across the UK
Experience working with a Board of Trustees
Experience within healthcare or health-related organizations
Knowledge of inclusivity and accessibility principles
Experience commissioning or supporting research initiatives
Degree or equivalent qualification

Occasional overnight travel may be required.
