C10 Labs is a venture studio and early-stage fund focused on building and backing applied AI startups across sectors such as healthcare, life sciences, energy, industrial systems, and scientific discovery. Based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the firm works closely with founders to identify opportunities and build companies from inception.

Through its partnership with the New York City Economic Development Corporation, C10 Labs helps operate AI Nexus NYC, a citywide initiative designed to accelerate AI innovation and adoption. The program connects founders, investors, researchers, and industry partners to develop applied AI solutions and launch new ventures.

About The Role

C10 Labs is seeking Founders in Residence to join the AI Nexus NYC venture studio and build new applied AI companies from the ground up.

In this role, you will work closely with the venture studio team to identify high-impact problems, validate opportunities, and develop new ventures. You will leverage the resources of the AI Nexus ecosystem to prototype, test, and scale ideas into venture-backed companies.

This role is designed for individuals who want to build a company while benefiting from the structure, capital, and support of a venture studio environment.

What You Will Do

You will identify opportunities where AI can drive meaningful change across industries and conduct market research, customer discovery, and technical validation.

You will develop venture concepts aligned with applied AI focus areas, build early prototypes or product architectures, and collaborate with engineering, product, and venture teams.

You will engage with mentors, researchers, and industry partners, develop investor materials, and support fundraising efforts. You will also recruit early team members or co-founders and transition into a leadership role as CEO or co-founder once the company is launched.

Who You Are

You bring a combination of technical understanding, industry insight, and entrepreneurial drive. You may be an experienced founder, a senior operator from a high-growth company, a technical leader, or a domain expert in an industry undergoing transformation.

You are comfortable working in early-stage environments with high uncertainty, have strong product intuition, and can translate emerging technologies into practical business opportunities. You have experience leading initiatives or building teams and are capable of taking ownership from idea to execution.
