The Role
Genesis MedTech is seeking a Global Medical Advisor to provide strategic clinical leadership for its Surgical Solutions business. The advisor will work closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to guide product strategy, clinical adoption, evidence generation, surgeon engagement, and commercial growth across global markets.
This role is suited for an accomplished surgeon with deep expertise in minimally invasive surgery who can bridge clinical practice with product innovation, regulatory strategy, and market expansion.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership
- Serve as the company's senior medical advisor for surgical practice and clinical strategy.
- Translate clinical needs into product requirements and workflow improvements.
- Advise executive leadership on improving surgical outcomes, efficiency, and patient safety.
- Represent the company with surgeons, healthcare executives, regulators, and strategic partners.
Product Strategy
- Partner with product, R&D, regulatory, quality, and commercial teams to shape the product roadmap.
- Identify opportunities for new products, indication expansion, and platform enhancements.
- Provide guidance on surgical technologies including robotics, imaging, energy systems, navigation, and AI-enabled solutions.
- Support competitive assessments and product differentiation strategies.
Medical Affairs & Clinical Evidence
- Support the company's clinical evidence generation strategy.
- Contribute to clinical trial design, registries, post-market studies, and health economic initiatives.
- Assist with publications, conference presentations, and scientific engagement.
- Ensure clinical claims remain scientifically and regulatorily compliant.
Commercial & Market Development
- Support global commercial strategy and product positioning.
- Participate in customer meetings, distributor training, investor presentations, and strategic partnerships.
- Help identify target clinical segments and regional growth opportunities.
- Provide clinically accurate support for sales and marketing initiatives.
Surgeon Engagement & Education
- Build relationships with global key opinion leaders, academic institutions, and surgical societies.
- Lead advisory boards, innovation workshops, and hands-on training programs.
- Support surgeon education, certification pathways, and centers of excellence.
- Develop scalable adoption strategies for new surgical technologies.
Regulatory & Quality
- Provide clinical input for regulatory submissions and risk assessments.
- Support post-market surveillance and complaint investigations.
- Collaborate with quality and regulatory teams to maintain patient safety and compliance.
Qualifications
- Medical degree with completed surgical training.
- Significant experience in General Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, HPB Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, or a related specialty.
- Strong expertise in minimally invasive surgery, including laparoscopic, robotic, endoscopic, or image-guided procedures.
- Experience working with medical device companies, product development, medical affairs, or clinical advisory boards.
- Strong understanding of global surgical practice and healthcare systems.
- Experience with regulatory frameworks including CE Mark, FDA, MDR, and post-market clinical evaluation.
- Ability to build relationships with healthcare leaders, surgeons, and strategic partners.
- Willingness to travel internationally.
- Fluency in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Leadership experience within a medical technology company.
- Experience with surgical robotics, digital surgery, AI, or advanced surgical technologies.
- Active or recent practice at a leading academic or high-volume clinical center.
- Experience with clinical research, publications, and medical society leadership.
- Familiarity with hospital procurement, reimbursement, and health economics.
- Proficiency in additional European or Asian languages.
