The Role

The Part-Time Clinical Director will provide senior clinical oversight across clinical quality, patient safety, regulatory compliance, governance, and patient-centred care.

Reporting to Executive Leadership, the Clinical Director will also serve as a key clinical advisor and hands-on builder, helping turn new service ideas into safe, effective, and scalable clinical programs.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership & Governance

• Provide senior clinical leadership and strategic direction.
• Establish and maintain clinical governance, standards, policies, and protocols.
• Oversee clinical quality, patient safety, risk, and continuous improvement.
• Support regulatory and professional compliance across relevant Canadian jurisdictions.

Clinical Operations & Team Leadership

• Provide clinical guidance and mentorship to Nurse Practitioners and clinical teams.
• Support complex clinical escalations and significant clinical matters.
• Help build a high-performing culture of clinical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Program & Service Development

• Build and improve clinical programs and patient care pathways.
• Design eligibility criteria, treatment protocols, monitoring cadences, and escalation processes.
• Provide clinical input into new healthcare services, technology, and AI initiatives from concept and pilot design through launch and ongoing improvement.

Executive Advisory

• Advise Executive Leadership on clinical strategy, risk, and service development.
• Provide practical clinical input into the organisation’s growth and service development.

Qualifications

• Active Canadian registration and licensure in good standing.
• Significant clinical experience as a Physician or Nurse Practitioner.
• Demonstrated experience in clinical leadership, governance, or senior healthcare management.
• Exceptional clinical judgement and decision-making skills.
• Strong understanding of Canadian healthcare regulations and professional standards.
• Confidence and credibility to advise and challenge senior leadership.
• Experience building or improving clinical programs, care pathways, or new healthcare services.
• Resourceful and practical approach, with comfort operating in an ambiguous startup environment.
• Genuine interest in virtual care, healthcare technology, and innovation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in telehealth, digital health, primary care, or a high-growth healthcare environment.
• Experience balancing strategic leadership with hands-on execution.
