About The EdVaults
The EdVaults has provided criterion-based assessment resources to MYP teachers since 2017.
The company was created in response to frustrations among teachers around the lack of guidance, support and examples for assessment creation by the International Baccalaureate (IB). Its growing task bank provides MYP teachers with multiple options for classroom assessment needs.
The platform initially focused on MYP Mathematics and has expanded into additional subject areas, beginning with MYP Science.
The Role
The EdVaults is seeking an experienced MYP Individuals and Societies teacher to launch and lead a new Individuals and Societies division.
The Head of Individuals and Societies will have creative control over the vision and direction of the department and will play a leading role in developing assessment resources for other MYP teachers.
Key Responsibilities
Assessment Development
- Develop a philosophy for creating MYP Individuals and Societies criterion-based assessments.
- Design and develop assessments for Grades 6–10.
- Ensure assessments address individual, multiple and/or integrated disciplines across the humanities and social sciences.
- Ensure at least one assessment is added to the MYP Individuals and Societies section each month.
Team & Content Management
- Hire MYP Individuals and Societies assessment authors as needed.
- Manage hired assessment authors.
- Review and make final edits to assessments produced by contributing authors.
Teacher & User Research
- Conduct user and teacher research.
- Ensure assessments meet the needs of The EdVaults' customers.
Qualifications
Essential
- Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in MYP Individuals and Societies.
- Experience writing MYP Individuals and Societies assessments.
- Ability to work independently and remotely.
- Availability of at least several hours each month to fulfil responsibilities.
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule with full control over working hours.
Desirable
- Experience as an MYP Individuals & Societies eAssessment Examiner.
- Experience with the monitoring/moderation process for MYP Individuals & Societies assessments.
- Experience managing a team.
- Entrepreneurial mindset.
Compensation
