Fractional Chief Medical Officer (CMO)

Allia Health Group is seeking a Fractional Chief Medical Officer to serve as the senior-most clinical leader across its healthcare ecosystem.
The role will oversee clinical decision-making, quality and patient safety, clinical operations, healthcare technology strategy, and regulatory compliance while supporting a rapidly scaling telehealth environment serving more than 15,000 patients per month.
The CMO will work closely with clinical, operational, product, engineering, legal, and compliance teams to ensure high-quality and compliant care delivery.
Establish the clinical vision and standards of care across:
Define clinical governance structures and decision-making frameworks
Lead medical oversight across Allia Care and affiliated organizations
Own the clinical operating model, including:
Design scalable clinical processes that maintain safety and quality during growth
Build and lead a telehealth-focused Quality & Patient Safety program
Develop systems for:
Recruit, train, supervise, and develop clinicians
Manage provider performance and governance frameworks
Support multi-state provider network operations
Serve as executive sponsor for:
Partner closely with Product and Engineering teams
Own clinical compliance strategy
Partner with Legal and Compliance teams on:
Support medication safety initiatives and pharmacy-integrated care workflows
Lead clinical due diligence for new programs, treatments, and expansion initiatives
Evaluate clinical risks and opportunities across the business portfolio
MD or DO from an accredited institution
Active and unrestricted U.S. medical license
Board certification in:
10+ years of clinical experience
5+ years in senior clinical leadership roles such as:
Experience leading:
Experience in telehealth or technology-enabled care environments
Strong knowledge of:
Experience partnering with:
Experience working with EHR systems such as:
Experience with virtual care delivery models
Previous Chief Medical Officer experience
Experience scaling operations beyond 10,000 patients per month
Experience designing or influencing EHR systems and clinical workflows
Experience managing multi-state provider networks
Experience with pharmacy-integrated care models
Experience with healthcare analytics tools including:
