The Role
Compass Palliative and Pain Management is seeking a Pain Management Medical Director to provide clinical leadership and physician oversight for its expanding mobile and telemedicine pain management program.
This executive leadership role is fully remote and focuses on supervising advanced practice providers, ensuring high-quality patient care, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting the continued growth of the organization's clinical services.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership
- Provide physician oversight and clinical supervision for up to eight full-time Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.
- Supervise telemedicine providers to ensure quality of care and appropriate prescribing practices.
- Be available for provider consultation, case reviews, and clinical guidance.
Quality & Compliance
- Review patient documentation to ensure clinical quality and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure documentation, telehealth workflows, and prescribing practices comply with Medicare, DEA, and Wyoming regulations.
- Support quality improvement initiatives across the organization.
Clinical Strategy
- Guide providers on evidence-based pain management protocols.
- Support individualized treatment planning for geriatric and medically complex patients.
- Collaborate with leadership on the development and expansion of pain management and palliative care services.
Team Collaboration
- Participate in monthly provider meetings.
- Foster clinical excellence through education, mentorship, and ongoing provider support.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree.
- Active Wyoming medical license.
- Active DEA registration in good standing.
- Medicare-enrolled provider.
- Must reside in Wyoming.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pain Management, Anesthesiology, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Palliative Care, or a related specialty.
- Strong understanding of safe opioid prescribing and multidisciplinary pain management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supervising Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, or telemedicine providers.
- Experience working with geriatric, chronic pain, palliative care, or post-acute care populations.
