Physician Reviewer (Part-Time, Permanent)
The Physician Reviewer is responsible for conducting utilization reviews and medical necessity determinations across multiple healthcare service lines.
The role supports evidence-based decision-making and collaborates with providers, physicians, and internal teams to ensure appropriate patient care and regulatory compliance.

Core hours between:
Additional availability may occasionally be required, including:
Conduct medical necessity reviews and utilization management evaluations
Review cases that may not meet established clinical criteria
Issue adverse determinations when appropriate
Evaluate requests involving:
Apply evidence-based clinical guidelines and regulatory standards
Meet client service-level agreements (SLAs) and performance requirements
Exercise sound clinical judgment in all determinations
Collaborate with providers, ordering physicians, and internal stakeholders
Support additional clinical review activities as needed
MD or DO degree
Active and unrestricted medical license
Board certification in a relevant specialty
Minimum 3 years of utilization management (UM) experience
Minimum 3 years of clinical practice experience, including inpatient care
Experience with:
Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills
Experience reviewing medical necessity cases
Strong understanding of payer and utilization management environments
Comfortable making independent clinical determinations
Familiarity with post-acute and home-based care services
Ability to balance quality, compliance, and efficiency requirements
