The Chief Financial Officer will serve as a senior strategic leader responsible for overseeing the organization’s financial health, governance, and long-term sustainability.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO will lead the finance function while partnering with the Council, Audit & Risk Committee, Finance Steering Group, and senior leadership team on strategic and operational financial matters.
This role combines strategic financial leadership with hands-on oversight of financial operations, compliance, and organizational planning.
Part-time leadership role.

Remote working arrangement with occasional mandatory meetings in London.
Lead long-term financial planning and forecasting activities.
Provide financial insight and strategic guidance to executive leadership and governance committees.
Support organizational sustainability and strategic decision-making.
Oversee statutory reporting, audits, and financial compliance.
Ensure strong financial governance, internal controls, and policy development.
Support risk management and financial accountability initiatives.
Manage treasury activities, investments, cash flow, and budgeting processes.
Monitor financial performance and support resource allocation decisions.
Oversee financial policies, operational controls, and reporting frameworks.
Lead and develop the finance team.
Partner with internal stakeholders to promote financial transparency and operational collaboration.
Support a culture of continuous improvement and strategic partnership across the organization.
Qualified finance professional with ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CIPFA certification.
Senior-level finance leadership experience.
Strong knowledge of financial reporting, governance, risk management, and statutory accounting.
Experience managing audits and financial compliance processes.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strategic mindset with the ability to balance high-level planning and operational execution.
Ability to influence and challenge constructively within leadership environments.
Experience within charity, membership, education, or professional body sectors preferred.
£54,000 annual salary pro rata (£90,000 full-time equivalent).
