This Fractional Chief Financial Officer position is a part-time leadership opportunity supporting multiple clients within the construction and skilled trades sectors. You will serve as a strategic finance partner, helping business owners improve profitability, strengthen cash flow, and make better-informed decisions.
DAAXIT was founded in 2021 and is built on more than 20 years of construction-specific financial leadership experience. The company provides fractional CFO services designed to help contractors and skilled trades businesses grow profitably and sustainably through stronger financial management and strategic guidance.
This role is ideal for experienced construction finance leaders who want to stay engaged in meaningful strategic work without the demands of a traditional full-time executive position. You will work with multiple clients while maintaining flexibility, autonomy, and direct impact on growing businesses.
You will act as the CFO for multiple construction and skilled trades clients, leading monthly and quarterly financial reviews with business owners. You will translate financial data into clear insights, develop budgets and forecasts, and guide strategic planning and goal setting.
You will analyze construction-specific metrics such as WIP calculations and job costing, while building KPI dashboards that help clients track performance. You will coach owners and leadership teams on financial literacy, profitability drivers, and cash flow management.
You will also integrate closely with client teams as a trusted advisor, maintaining strong relationships and providing regular updates to DAAXIT leadership on progress and client needs.
You bring significant senior-level finance leadership experience within the construction industry, including work with general contractors, subcontractors, or specialty trades. You have deep expertise in job costing, WIP calculations, and construction-focused financial operations.
You are highly proficient in Excel, QuickBooks, and construction ERP systems such as Sage, Timberline, Spectrum, Trimble, Acumatica, or Viewpoint. You are a strong communicator who can explain complex financial concepts in a practical and accessible way.
You hold a degree in Accounting or Finance and bring progressive finance experience, including years in CFO or senior leadership roles within construction-focused businesses.
Success in this role is measured by client outcomes rather than hours worked. You will help businesses achieve stronger financial clarity, improved profitability, healthier cash flow, and more consistent execution.
Compensation is based on a per-client retainer model and varies depending on experience, workload, and client complexity. Additional paid administrative time may also apply. The role structure will be determined based on availability and mutual agreement.
This is a primarily remote role, with candidates required to reside in Wisconsin, ideally in the southern region to support clients in Milwaukee and Madison. Occasional travel to client sites may be required, particularly during onboarding.
