BindMarket is an early-stage company building AI-native infrastructure for commercial insurance distribution.
The company is redesigning how brokers access markets, submit business, receive quotes, and bind coverage through modern software and AI-driven workflows.
BindMarket is focused on improving efficiency, speed, and user experience across commercial insurance distribution while building the insurance foundation of a scalable technology platform.
BindMarket is seeking a Head of Insurance to lead the insurance side of the business as the platform grows.
This is a flexible remote leadership role responsible for shaping market strategy, underwriting direction, carrier and MGA relationships, program development, and product expansion across core commercial property and casualty lines.
The role is highly hands-on and suited for someone who combines strategic leadership with practical execution in fast-moving startup environments.
Compensation is equity-only at this stage, with plans to transition into a cash-plus-equity structure following future fundraising.
You will define and lead the company’s insurance strategy across commercial P&C product lines.
The role includes building and strengthening relationships with carriers, MGAs, wholesalers, and other market partners while expanding market access to support growth.
You will guide underwriting strategy and help shape how risks are evaluated, triaged, and placed through the platform.
You will support the design, structuring, and launch of new insurance programs.
You will advise on product expansion across Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, Professional Liability, and Business Owners Policy lines.
You will work closely with product and engineering teams to ensure the platform reflects real insurance workflows and underwriting requirements.
You will identify operational bottlenecks in submissions, quoting, binding, and subjectivity management while creating scalable solutions.
You will also build repeatable processes that improve placement outcomes, execution quality, and operating speed.
Candidates should have strong experience in wholesale insurance and meaningful underwriting experience.
You should possess deep knowledge of commercial P&C insurance, particularly Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, Professional Liability, and BOP products.
Applicants must bring strong existing relationships with carriers and MGAs.
Experience building, structuring, or scaling insurance programs is required.
Strong understanding of wholesale distribution economics, broker workflows, and risk placement strategy is essential.
Candidates should be comfortable working in startup environments with ambiguity and limited structure.
The ideal applicant is highly hands-on, able to build processes from scratch, and respected within the commercial P&C ecosystem.
Experience with wholesalers such as AMwins, CRC, RT Specialty, E&S markets, delegated authority, or program business is advantageous.
This is a high-ownership opportunity to help build the insurance core of an AI-native commercial insurance platform.
Compensation includes meaningful early-stage equity ownership with expected transition to cash-plus-equity after fundraising.
You will directly influence underwriting workflows, market strategy, carrier partnerships, and the future direction of commercial insurance distribution.
