This Project Director position is a part-time, senior leadership opportunity focused on overseeing a federally funded workforce development initiative aimed at expanding AI-related apprenticeship programs across the United States. You will provide strategic direction for a national program involving government agencies, state systems, and workforce partners.
This role offers the chance to shape workforce innovation at scale by helping strengthen the national AI talent pipeline. Working in a mission-driven environment, you will lead a complex, multi-stakeholder initiative that supports skills development and apprenticeship growth across the country.
You will serve as the primary point of contact for federal stakeholders, ensuring alignment on deliverables, performance targets, and contractual expectations. You will provide leadership to a multidisciplinary team of experts, analysts, and program staff, guiding execution across multiple workstreams.
You will oversee budgets, timelines, quality assurance, and reporting, ensuring all outputs meet federal standards, compliance requirements, and accessibility guidelines. You will coordinate with state apprenticeship agencies, workforce intermediaries, and external partners while representing the program in reviews, briefings, and stakeholder meetings.
You bring significant experience leading workforce development initiatives, government-funded programs, or other large-scale multi-stakeholder projects. You have strong knowledge of the Registered Apprenticeship system and experience managing federal contracts and relationships with government stakeholders.
You are an experienced leader who can guide distributed teams, manage competing priorities, and communicate effectively with senior executives and public sector officials. Familiarity with AI technologies and their application in workforce development is beneficial, while prior experience with Department of Labor apprenticeship programs is highly valuable.
