The company is seeking a Fractional Chief Financial Officer for a remote part-time contract role requiring approximately 15 to 25 hours per week.
Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the founding team, this executive will provide strategic financial leadership while helping build the financial foundation of the business.
The role is ideal for an experienced finance leader with expertise in fintech, payments, crypto, or regulated financial services who thrives in early-stage startup environments.
You will support sustainable growth, financial systems development, runway management, regulatory alignment, and future fundraising readiness.
You will develop financial strategy including budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning, and long-term growth modeling.
The role includes overseeing cash flow, treasury operations, liquidity planning, and settlement dynamics involving fiat and stablecoin partners.
You will build KPI dashboards covering unit economics, customer acquisition cost, lifetime value, transaction margins, and burn rate to support decision-making.
You will lead fundraising preparation through investor materials, financial models, cap table management, and due diligence support for Seed and Series A rounds.
You will ensure compliance with financial regulations including money transmission, AML, KYC, stablecoin-related requirements, and partner obligations.
The role also includes coordinating with accountants, auditors, tax advisors, and legal counsel while managing banking relationships, processor integrations, reconciliations, fraud controls, and operational finance functions.
Candidates should have at least 10 years of progressive finance experience, including 3 to 5 years in CFO or senior finance leadership roles.
You should have prior experience as a fractional CFO or consultant supporting startups, ideally at early stage.
Strong understanding of fintech economics, payment rails, settlement systems, and startup unit economics is required.
Experience with crypto, stablecoins, blockchain treasury management, or digital asset custody is highly preferred.
Applicants should have expertise in financial modeling, fundraising, and preparing startups for investment rounds.
Knowledge of U.S. financial regulations related to payments, money services businesses, and evolving crypto frameworks is important.
Strong communication skills and comfort operating in fast-moving startup environments are essential.
A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field is required. MBA or CPA credentials are preferred but not mandatory.
The company offers competitive hourly or monthly retainer compensation based on experience.
Equity participation is available in an early-stage fintech business with strong market potential.
This is a flexible remote opportunity, with preference for candidates based in New York, Texas, or Florida for occasional in-person collaboration.
