Fractional Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Location: United Kingdom

Work Arrangement: Remote

Commitment: 1–2 Days Per Week

Role Overview

The Fractional CFO will serve as a strategic financial partner to the CEO and executive leadership team, helping guide the company's growth, fundraising efforts, financial planning, and operational decision-making.

This role is ideally suited to an experienced startup CFO who can provide both strategic insight and hands-on financial leadership within a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership

• Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and leadership team
• Provide strategic financial guidance to support company growth
• Help shape commercial and operational decision-making
• Support long-term business planning and scaling initiatives

Fundraising & Investor Relations

• Support fundraising activities and investor engagement
• Assist with preparation for funding rounds
• Develop materials and financial narratives for investors
• Support relationships with venture capital, growth equity, and strategic investors

Financial Planning & Analysis

• Build and refine financial models
• Develop growth and expansion scenarios
• Support strategic forecasting and planning
• Evaluate business performance and growth opportunities

Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Flow

• Lead budgeting processes
• Manage financial forecasting activities
• Monitor and optimize cash flow
• Support financial decision-making across the organization

Board & Investor Reporting

• Prepare board reporting materials
• Deliver investor reporting and financial updates
• Provide visibility into business performance and financial health
• Support governance and stakeholder communications

Financial Infrastructure & Scalability

• Establish scalable financial processes and controls
• Support operational maturity and business readiness
• Build frameworks that support long-term growth and future investment

Required Experience

Financial Leadership

• Previous CFO experience within startups, scale-ups, or high-growth organizations
• Strong strategic finance and commercial leadership background
• Experience supporting executive teams through periods of rapid growth

Fundraising Experience

Demonstrated success supporting:

• Venture capital fundraising
• Growth equity transactions
• Strategic investment rounds
• Investor engagement and communications

Industry Experience

Experience within one or more of the following sectors:

• Digital Health
• HealthTech
• MedTech
• SaaS
• Technology-driven businesses

Leadership Style
