Start Without a Shot is a nonprofit initiative focused on replacing traditional race start sounds like gunshots and airhorns with more inclusive, research-backed alternatives. The organization is working toward global adoption of this standard across races and sporting events ahead of the 2028 Olympic Games.
This is a part-time, remote leadership role responsible for driving global adoption of the initiative. The position combines external engagement, strategy, and execution, with a focus on building partnerships and scaling the organization’s reach.
You will work closely with the Global Chairman while leading day-to-day operations, partnerships, and growth efforts.
You will lead efforts to secure adoption across governing bodies, race organizers, and event partners, while representing the initiative in industry settings and building key relationships.
You will oversee communications and marketing, manage external partners, and ensure consistent messaging. You will also develop and execute fundraising strategies, manage budgets, and handle financial and operational planning.
The role includes working on legal and partnership structures, tracking adoption progress, and building a roadmap for global expansion leading up to 2028.
You have experience in leadership roles within sports, nonprofits, or multi-stakeholder environments, and are comfortable working across partnerships, strategy, and operations.
You are confident engaging with institutions, securing partnerships, and managing external relationships. You also bring strong financial awareness and are comfortable overseeing budgets, planning, and performance tracking.
Experience in global sports, event management, or mission-driven initiatives is valuable, along with an interest in accessibility and inclusion.
This is a part-time, remote position with compensation based on experience.
