About the Opportunity
A partner company is seeking an experienced Interim Vice President, Client Success to provide executive leadership during a critical organizational transition.
This executive role will ensure continuity across a global client success organization while maintaining strong customer retention, operational excellence, and service quality. The successful candidate will partner closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to strengthen client relationships, improve operational performance, and support long-term organizational success.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Leadership
- Provide executive leadership and stability for the Client Success organization during the transition.
- Maintain continuity of strategic priorities and operational performance.
- Serve as the executive escalation point for strategic client relationships.
- Support the successful transition to permanent leadership.
Client Success Strategy
- Oversee client retention, satisfaction, and service quality across the customer portfolio.
- Monitor portfolio health, including retention metrics, churn risks, and executive engagement.
- Lead executive business reviews and strengthen long-term customer relationships.
- Identify account expansion opportunities in partnership with commercial and sales teams.
Operations & Organizational Improvement
- Evaluate business priorities, operational risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Assess organizational structure, capabilities, and resource allocation.
- Recommend and implement operational improvements to strengthen long-term effectiveness.
- Monitor key performance indicators and improve reporting processes.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Lead, coach, and mentor client success leaders and global teams.
- Establish clear performance expectations and accountability.
- Partner with implementation, operations, product, legal, finance, and sales teams to improve the overall customer experience.
- Document business priorities, risks, and recommendations to support leadership transition.
Qualifications
- Executive leadership experience in Client Success, Customer Success, Client Services, or Account Management.
- Experience within global payroll, HR services, Employer of Record (EOR), workforce management, BPO, consulting, or managed services.
- Proven success leading client-facing organizations through growth, transformation, or organizational change.
- Experience managing enterprise customer relationships and executive stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead globally distributed teams.
- Strong commercial acumen, including customer retention, portfolio management, and revenue growth.
- Excellent executive communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
- Ability to quickly assess organizational challenges and implement practical solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting business transitions, executive leadership changes, organizational turnarounds, or stabilization initiatives.
- Experience leading large global client success organizations in complex, matrixed environments.
