About the Organization
Tyndale Theological Seminary is an interdenominational, evangelical graduate school preparing students for ministry roles including pastors, teachers, missionaries, church planters and denominational leaders worldwide.
The seminary offers accredited master's programmes taught in English, providing theological and professional training in an international learning environment. The Role
Tyndale Theological Seminary is seeking a seasoned, mission-driven professional to serve as Director of Development and Advancement and act as the seminary's U.S. representative and fundraising coordinator.
The role will focus on cultivating relationships with potential donors, churches and like-minded organisations to secure funding for the seminary's global theological education initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Fundraising
- Develop and execute a comprehensive U.S.-based fundraising strategy.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with gift-granting individuals, foundations and churches.
- Set and pursue ambitious fundraising goals aligned with the seminary's mission.
Donor Relations & Stewardship
- Build and maintain relationships with current and prospective donors.
- Keep donors engaged with the seminary's mission.
- Provide regular updates and reports on the impact of their giving.
Representation & Partnerships
- Serve as the primary U.S. representative for Tyndale Theological Seminary.
- Promote the seminary's mission and programmes to relevant audiences.
- Build partnerships with churches, Christian organisations and educational institutions.
- Expand the seminary's network and support base.
Events & Conferences
- Organise and participate in U.S. fundraising events, conferences and seminars.
- Represent Tyndale at relevant Christian and educational conferences.
Communication & Reporting
- Prepare regular fundraising reports for the President and Board.
- Collaborate with the seminary's communications team to ensure consistent messaging in the United States.
Qualifications
- Degree in a relevant field such as Non-Profit Management, Business or Theology; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven success in a Christian nonprofit, educational or business setting.
- Experience with donor relationship management and major gift solicitation.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to set and achieve ambitious fundraising goals.
- Strong computer skills.
- Ability to work independently from a home office.
- Strong network within U.S. Christian communities and churches is a plus.
