The Role
The Senior Accounting & Benefits Administrator will serve as the financial backbone of the firm, overseeing accounting, payroll, benefits administration, and financial operations while acting as a trusted advisor to the firm's three owners.
This position extends beyond traditional bookkeeping by providing financial insight, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring the firm's financial and operational systems run efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Management
- Manage accounts receivable, including client invoicing and recording deposits.
- Manage accounts payable, including vendor invoices and expense documentation.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and loan accounts.
- Prepare monthly Profit & Loss statements and recurring financial reports covering payroll, commissions, expenses, placements, and firm performance.
- Administer bi-monthly payroll in compliance with Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia tax regulations.
- Process owner commissions, maintain QuickBooks files for each LLC, and assist with tax preparation.
- Prepare quarterly federal and state tax estimates.
- Generate annual W-2s and 1099s.
- Complete required tax filings, business license renewals, census reporting, and regulatory filings.
- Coordinate with the firm's external accounting partner on annual corporate tax returns.
- Support the COO with Year-End Partner Meeting preparation.
Technology & Process Improvement
- Leverage technology and automation to improve accounting workflows and reporting.
- Utilize AI-enabled tools for reporting, reconciliation, and financial analysis while maintaining appropriate oversight.
- Recommend operational improvements and technology enhancements.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Experience using QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
- Experience maintaining CRM databases.
- Familiarity with accounting, payroll, HR, and productivity systems.
- Ability to adapt to changing business needs, regulations, and emerging technologies.
- Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Professional judgment and attention to detail.
Compensation
- Compensation: $72,800–$88,000 per year.
- Compensation Structure: Salary.
Time Commitment
Part-Time (25–30 hours per week) with a flexible work schedule.
