Government Sourcing Solutions (GovSourcing), a Procure Analytics company, is a national consulting firm composed of former public-sector procurement, technology, and administrative leaders.

The firm works with government organizations to improve procurement practices, adopt cooperative contracts, and implement strategic technology initiatives that strengthen operational effectiveness across the public sector.

GovSourcing partners with suppliers that provide cooperative contract solutions and works closely with government leaders including chief procurement officers, chief information officers, and chief administrative officers.

The organization focuses on supporting the SLED market, which includes state governments, cities, counties, higher education institutions, and K–12 organizations.

Role Overview

GovSourcing is seeking a Director of Public Sector Technology to support its work with government agencies and technology leadership across the United States.

This part-time role is designed for experienced public-sector technology leaders such as current or former Chief Information Officers, Chief Technology Officers, or Chief Operations Officers who have led technology initiatives within state, city, or county governments.

The Director will help connect government agencies with cooperative contract solutions and support the expansion of technology partnerships across the public sector.

Candidates located in the U.S. West Coast or Mountain Time Zone are preferred.

Responsibilities

Work with GovSourcing supplier partners and public-sector technology leaders to increase adoption of cooperative contracts within government organizations.

Collaborate with GovSourcing Regional Vice Presidents to strengthen government relationships and identify partnership opportunities.

Develop and maintain a pipeline of opportunities that lead to cooperative contract adoption across assigned government accounts.

Support GovSourcing leadership in expanding services through the development of new supplier partnerships.

Help drive growth within the SLED market by supporting existing and new supplier partners.

Key Activities

Travel nationally one to three days per week to meet with SLED technology leaders and government stakeholders.

Build and maintain strong working relationships with chief information officers, chief technology officers, and other government technology leaders.

Collaborate with business partners to promote best-practice solutions for government agencies.

Consult with government clients to develop business cases supporting cooperative contract solutions.

Support government organizations in achieving strategic technology and operational goals.

Stay informed on trends in public-sector technology and share insights with supplier partners.

Attend national and regional conferences related to public-sector technology and government procurement.

Participate in regular internal meetings and calls with GovSourcing leadership and supplier partners.

Maintain accurate activity records and opportunity tracking within the Salesforce CRM system.

Qualifications

Minimum of five years of experience in a technology leadership role within a state, city, county, or other SLED organization.

Strong professional relationships with chief information officers, chief technology officers, or chief operations officers across the public sector.

Active involvement in national public-sector technology organizations such as NASCIO or NASTD is highly desirable.

Broad understanding of the public-sector technology environment and government operations.

Familiarity with emerging trends and practices in government technology adoption.

Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to serve as a subject matter expert or conference panelist.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Project management mindset with the ability to execute initiatives effectively.

Self-starter mentality with strong organizational discipline.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Ability to learn and utilize web-based tools such as Salesforce.

Experience with or membership in government-focused organizations such as NASCIO, NLC, NASTD, NIGP, or NAEP is preferred.
