About the Company
A private equity-backed, global pharmaceutical manufacturing company is seeking an Interim General Counsel to provide executive legal leadership during an eight-month maternity leave cover. Operating internationally, the company requires an experienced legal executive to support strategic business initiatives across commercial, corporate, and regulatory matters.
The Role
Reporting directly to the US-based CEO, the Interim General Counsel will serve as the company's senior legal advisor, overseeing legal strategy while supporting the executive team and Board. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on legal execution across complex global commercial and corporate matters.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Strategy & Governance
- Advise the CEO, Board, and executive team on legal, commercial, corporate, and regulatory matters.
- Oversee corporate governance across the global group.
- Develop and implement legal strategy aligned with business objectives.
Commercial & Corporate Law
- Lead complex cross-border commercial contract negotiations and drafting.
- Structure strategic partnerships and licensing agreements.
- Manage complex legal disputes and employment matters.
Legal Operations
- Lead legal operations initiatives and process improvements.
- Manage relationships with external legal counsel where required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a General Counsel.
- Experience within pharmaceutical, life sciences, manufacturing, or supply chain organizations.
- Strong expertise in cross-border commercial contracts and corporate governance.
- Ability to advise executive leadership on legal risk and regulatory matters.
- Proven experience operating in a fast-paced global environment.
Compensation
- Paid fixed-term contract (8 months).
Time Commitment
- Part-time (4 days per week).
- Initial 8-month fixed-term contract.
