About the Company
An international fintech organization is expanding its presence in the United States and is seeking an experienced Chief Compliance Officer / BSA Officer to lead its U.S. compliance function. The company is building its regulatory framework to support its Money Services Business (MSB) and money transmission operations while continuing its global growth.
The Role
The Chief Compliance Officer / BSA Officer will establish and oversee the company's U.S. compliance program, ensuring adherence to FinCEN, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), AML, and other regulatory requirements. The role will also support state money transmitter licensing and work closely with regulators, banking partners, auditors, and internal stakeholders to maintain a robust compliance framework.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance Leadership
- Serve as the designated Chief Compliance Officer / BSA Officer for the U.S. Money Services Business.
- Develop, implement, and oversee the company's AML/BSA compliance program.
- Support state money transmitter licensing applications and ongoing regulatory obligations.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with FinCEN, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), and other applicable U.S. regulations.
- Oversee AML, KYC/KYB, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, SAR/CTR reporting, and OFAC compliance.
- Liaise with regulators, banking partners, auditors, and internal stakeholders.
Governance
- Support the wider global compliance function while maintaining appropriate governance, reporting lines, and conflict management.
Qualifications
- Based in the United States and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Extensive experience with FinCEN, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Money Services Businesses (MSBs), and state money transmitter licensing.
- Strong expertise in AML/CFT compliance, KYC/KYB, transaction monitoring, SAR/CTR reporting, and OFAC sanctions.
- Previous experience as a BSA Officer, MLRO, Chief Compliance Officer, or Senior Compliance Officer within a bank, fintech, payment institution, or money transmitter.
- Strong ability to work independently while collaborating across an international organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- CAMS certification or an equivalent professional qualification.
