Are you seeking a part-time finance leadership role that helps advance a mission of using data and research to improve social service systems?

Evident Change seeks a director of finance to coordinate and oversee our accounting and our financial planning and analysis operations, policies and procedures, reporting systems, and overall fiscal management. The director of finance will also work with the executive team to implement strategies that support the organization’s goals and priorities.Evident Change is not looking for a fractional employee with multiple employers in this field. We are seeking an individual interested in less than a full-time but primary position with Evident Change.What will you do?Get ready to:

  • Lead Evident Change’s financial strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Oversee the full budgeting process, including annual planning, monthly monitoring, and reforecasting.
  • Provide timely financial reporting and analysis to inform leadership decisions, including trends, forecasts, and major financial impacts.
  • Maintain strong financial operations, including internal controls, policies, procedures, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Manage key financial relationships and processes, including banking partners, outsourced accounting, and the annual audit.
  • Oversee the financial performance management, including dashboards/metrics, departmental reviews, and coordination with finance staff and executives.

Our Compensation and Benefit OfferingsThe national average salary for this three-quarter-time position ranges between $97,500 and $119,000 per year. Compensation is dependent on experience, parity with peers, and where an employee lives.Evident Change offers a monthly stipend to support our “work-from-anywhere” culture as well as other great benefits, including customizable medical, vision, and dental coverage.   • Minimum of 10 years of relevant financial and business operations experience, at least five of which are with a nonprofit organization
  • Five to 10 years of successful management and leadership experience, including final responsibility for the quality and content of all financial data, and reporting and audit coordination for either a division or significant program area
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required.
  • A successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organization, and problem-solving skills that support and enable sound decision making
  • Experience with translating financial concepts to, and an ability to effectively collaborate with, programmatic colleagues who do not necessarily have finance backgrounds
  • Experience supervising and coaching employees, and a demonstrated ability to select, develop, motivate, mentor, and retain high-performing staff

Additional assets a candidate may possess include the following:

  • CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred
  • Experience evaluating, selecting, and implementing financial systems is desired
  • Experience in nonprofit financial accounting strongly preferred.
