About the Organization
Enterprise Oxfordshire supports economic growth across Oxfordshire by backing businesses, attracting investment and driving economic development across the county.
The organisation has a team of approximately 30 people and manages significant public and grant funding subject to substantial accountability and scrutiny.
The Role
The Director of Corporate & Finance will lead the finance and corporate services functions during an important period of organisational change, working closely with a new Managing Director as funding and organisational structures evolve.
As the senior finance leader, you will advise the Managing Director and Board directly, own financial strategy, budgeting and reporting, and ensure strong governance, risk management and controls around public funding.
The remit is broad and hands-on, covering finance as well as procurement, contracts, corporate services and Company Secretarial responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Finance & Strategy
- Act as the senior finance voice for the organisation.
- Advise the Managing Director and Board on financial matters.
- Own financial strategy, budgeting and reporting.
- Maintain strong financial controls and accountability around public funding.
Corporate Services & Governance
- Oversee governance, risk and corporate controls.
- Lead procurement and contract management.
- Oversee wider corporate services.
- Manage Company Secretarial responsibilities.
Leadership & Operations
- Provide leadership through a period of evolving funding and organisational structures.
- Remain sufficiently hands-on to address detailed operational matters when required.
Qualifications
- Professional accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent.
- Experience in an environment where financial accountability and scrutiny are significant.
- Experience in local or central government, a LEP or Growth Hub, university, housing, charity, or another publicly funded or regulated organisation.
- Strong commercial awareness alongside public-sector or regulated-sector experience.
- Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels.

Contract Details
The role is offered on a fixed-term basis through to 2028, aligned with the current funding cycle. There is potential for the position to become permanent as the organisation's longer-term structure develops.
Compensation
Up to £95,000
