Oneday is an education technology platform focused on helping aspiring entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds turn their business ideas into reality.

The platform centers on a one-to-one mentor relationship, pairing each student with a Founder who has already built a business similar to what they are trying to create. Oneday aims to provide practical business education through direct guidance from experienced entrepreneurs.

The Role

As an Entrepreneur in Residence, you will mentor a portfolio of ambitious early-stage founders through structured one-to-one calls.

You will help founders validate ideas, develop their first products, acquire initial customers, grow revenue, make key hiring decisions, and build businesses designed for long-term sustainability.

This is a significant mentoring commitment rather than an informal advisory role, requiring experienced founders to share practical knowledge and direct feedback throughout the company-building process.

Key Responsibilities

Founder Mentorship

• Provide direct, experience-led guidance on launching and scaling businesses.
• Support founders across idea validation, product development, growth, hiring, revenue, and operations.
• Hold founders accountable to agreed commitments and outcomes.
• Provide candid feedback based on practical entrepreneurial experience.
• Review assignments linked to key milestones in each founder's company-building journey.

Network & Strategic Support

• Provide warm introductions to relevant contacts where appropriate.
• Support founders with hiring leads and customer conversations through your professional network.
• Share practical playbooks, lessons, and experiences from your own entrepreneurial journey.

Community Contribution

• Participate in a peer community of experienced founders and operators.
• Collaborate and exchange knowledge with other mentors.
• Engage with early-stage founders and gain access to potential dealflow from the Oneday community.

Qualifications

• Founder of one or more businesses that have reached significant scale, typically seven- or eight-figure revenue or higher.
• Experience building businesses through fundraising, bootstrapping, or a combination of both.
• Deep tactical expertise in identifying and validating opportunities, building products, and driving early growth.
• Strong commitment to practical, outcome-focused company building.
• Excellent judgment and interpersonal skills.
• Direct, generous, and patient approach to mentoring early-stage founders.
• Prior mentoring, advisory, or angel-investing experience is strongly preferred.

Preferred Background

Experience building businesses in areas such as:

• Professional services and agencies
• Education and professional development
• Entertainment, art, and media
• Events, communities, and experiences
• Real estate and infrastructure
• Workplace and the future of work
• Travel and hospitality

Lived experience navigating barriers to entrepreneurship, including limited access to capital, networks, or opportunity, is considered an asset.

Time Commitment

• Minimum 10 hours per week.
• Flexible around existing commitments.
