Business: Ocushield, with a direct-to-consumer first model and Amazon as a secondary channel. The United States is the largest market, followed by the United Kingdom.
Ocushield is building the United Kingdom’s leading preventative eye health brand for a screen driven world.
Founded by practising optometrists, the company began by addressing a growing issue observed in clinical practice. Increasing numbers of people were experiencing eye strain, fatigue, and reduced focus earlier in life due to unprecedented screen use both at work and at home. This insight led to the development of the world’s first medically rated blue light filtering technology, registered with both the MHRA and the FDA as a Class I Medical Device.
Since then, Ocushield has expanded beyond blue light solutions and now operates at the intersection of health, performance, and modern work. The company is building a preventative eye health platform designed to support how people live and work, offering clinically developed blue light filters, online eye screening, and products aimed at protecting and enhancing visual performance throughout the day.
The organisation believes that eye health plays a critical role in productivity and wellbeing. When eye health declines, focus and energy follow. In a world where screen usage continues to rise, Ocushield believes eye care should be preventative, integrated into everyday life, and treated with the same importance as sleep, nutrition, and physical movement.
Alongside its direct to consumer business, Ocushield also works with employers and strategic partners who view eye health as an important component of workplace wellbeing and performance. The company’s ambition is to establish eye care as a core pillar of modern health and productivity.
Ocushield is seeking a Head of Growth to lead and accelerate the next phase of the company’s commercial expansion.
This is a senior and hands on leadership role with full commercial accountability for growth across the company’s direct to consumer business and Amazon marketplaces. The successful candidate will own the growth profit and loss, define and execute the growth strategy, and personally drive performance across acquisition, conversion, retention, and monetisation.
The position requires a leader who can think strategically while also working closely with operational detail and performance data. The role is designed for someone proactive, commercially driven, and highly focused on measurable growth outcomes.
The Head of Growth will take full ownership of revenue growth and profitability across both the direct to consumer website and Amazon marketplaces. The role includes accountability for customer acquisition cost, contribution margin, and overall channel efficiency.
You will be responsible for building and actively managing revenue forecasts, growth targets, and strategic growth plans that support sustainable commercial performance.
The role will oversee website performance end to end, including traffic acquisition, conversion rate optimisation, average order value, and customer retention. Paid acquisition efforts across channels such as Meta, Google, influencer partnerships, and emerging platforms will fall under your direct leadership. You will also identify and test new acquisition channels and scalable growth loops.
Optimising website performance will involve structured testing and ongoing conversion rate optimisation informed by data and customer insights.
The position will also lead Amazon growth across both UK and international marketplaces. Responsibilities include managing marketplace performance through paid media, listing optimisation, pricing strategies, promotions, and operational coordination. Growth initiatives must balance expansion with brand integrity and margin discipline.
You will oversee the overall marketing mix, including paid media, conversion optimisation, email and CRM programmes, influencer partnerships, and commercial collaborations. The role requires identifying new marketing channels that demonstrate clear potential for profitable growth.
Close collaboration with content and social media creators will be essential to ensure that creative output supports commercial performance. You will translate customer insights and performance data into clear creative direction and actionable briefs.
The Head of Growth will also play a key role in product launches by leading the commercial growth strategy and developing go to market plans across direct to consumer channels and Amazon. Pricing, positioning, and channel strategy must be aligned with both growth objectives and margin targets.
A strong experimentation culture will be central to the role. You will establish structured testing frameworks across channels, using performance data to identify opportunities, diagnose issues, and prioritise action. Insights must translate quickly into execution, with continuous learning loops guiding ongoing optimisation.
The ideal candidate will have held a senior growth role within a direct to consumer business, ideally within consumer health, wellness, or subscription based products.
Candidates should demonstrate a proven track record of scaling revenue profitably while maintaining strong commercial discipline. Experience managing both website led growth and marketplace channels is essential, with Amazon marketplace experience being a critical requirement.
The role requires a highly analytical mindset with strong ability to interpret performance data, dashboards, and financial metrics. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels, moving easily between high level growth planning and hands on performance management across accounts, advertising platforms, and analytics tools.
A strong growth mindset is essential. The ideal candidate will be proactive, curious, and motivated to pursue opportunities without waiting for direction. Strong commercial instincts and the ability to evaluate trade offs between growth, profitability, and operational complexity are critical.
The position also requires strong prioritisation and decision making skills, particularly in fast moving environments where data, experimentation, and iteration drive performance improvements.
Success in this role will be defined by sustained and profitable revenue growth across both direct to consumer and Amazon channels.
The Head of Growth will demonstrate clear ownership and accountability for commercial performance metrics rather than simply managing activity. The business should see faster testing cycles, clearer prioritisation of initiatives, and stronger commercial decision making driven by data.
Ultimately, the role will establish a scalable growth engine that enables the business to expand across channels, products, and markets without constant operational firefighting.
Ocushield has reached a stage where incremental optimisation alone is no longer sufficient. The company is seeking a growth leader who can take full ownership, move quickly, and unlock the next stage of scale across its commercial ecosystem.
